For this print magazine cover design, I explored the concept of identity concealment through a visual language that feels both universally familiar and deliberately impersonal: the barcode. By scaling it to an exaggerated size and blending it seamlessly with bold, modern typography, I transformed a symbol of commodification into a mask for self-expression.
Hidden within the bars are numbers that hold personal significance, such as my date of birth and other identifiers, subtly embedded yet intentionally obscured. The final design plays with the tension between visibility and anonymity, inviting viewers to question what’s being revealed versus what remains hidden in plain sight.
